Overview

In the spring of 2020, SCFE was approached by three non-profits that were faced with the same problem: how to fundraise without the traditional large crowd event that they were used to having.  Historically, these events would be elaborate galas with high price tags, hundreds of people in fancy clothes, and an open bar with the intent to raise money.  In a blink, none of that was possible.  Mix in the need for PPE, loss of volunteers; time to plan, and restrictions on gatherings, the complexity was real.  Traditional event and catering centers couldn’t staff events or provide ample social distancing for more than a dozen people, yet their missions must continue forward.

Through our Consultative DMM Conversation™, the solution became evident that a joint event to support all three organizations was needed and indeed possible.  The key to event success was access.  SCFE’s moat of relationships was able to provide access for the organizations to a private country club to host the event; access to volunteer to staff the event; vendors that had PPE available; access to embroider to brand company sponsored items; and most importantly access to hundreds of people that saw the need and responded to the call to action.
